Question from Jorge Martinez

In several meetings in Cincinnati came up a new letter some people is receiving. This letter says that the records where upated and thank you for your cooperation, when in fact the car owner did nothing.

I would like to ask if this has happened in other parts of the state and if somebody knows the reason of such letters?

Ms. Komlanc says:

The best I can say on that question, without more time to look into it or exactly who got those letters is:

We are sending confirmation letters to those who have provided us with information. If people believe they are getting false confirmation letters, we would urge them to let the BMV know so that we can look into the situation.

About "LULAC OHIO JOINS CAMPAIGN AGAINST OHIO'S NEW BMV REGISTRATION POLICY" report.

Ms. Komlanc says:

As far as LULAC's report, the only comment that the Department can make iis that as an administrative agency of the state, we are tasked with administering the motor vehicle laws, which is what the agency is doing with the new policy and letter. We are not in any way targeting any one population, but simply enforcing a policy.
