MUSIC, MOVIE SPECIAL EFFECTS AND FIREWORKS
MAKE FOUNTAIN SQUARE THE PLACE TO BE SATURDAY JULY 4
 
Celebrate the 4th of July on Fountain Square this Saturday night at the P&G Fourth of July Bash.  Patriotic music by the New Sousa Band begins at 7pm followed by a special screening of the summer blockbuster Independence Day, enhanced with Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks.
 
The event is FREE and open to the public.
 
The New Sousa Band is a professional, nationally-touring concert band that performs the patriotic marches of John Philip Sousa and other classic works performed by Sousa’s original band in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  (www.newsousaband.com)
 
At 8pm, the 1996 movie Independence Day starring Will Smith as a Marine pilot fighting aliens bent on destroying the Earth in a single day will be shown on the giant video screen on the Square.
 
The movie won an Oscar for best visual effects.  But you haven’t seen anything until you see what we’re doing with the movie Saturday night on Fountain Square!  Fireworks will be used during the movie to create a unique outdoor viewing experience. (Hint: explosions = fireworks).
 
To end the night, while the movie credits roll, we’ll light up the sky once more with a traditional fireworks display by Rozzi's Famous Fireworks beginning at around 10:15pm.  Cincinnati-based Rozzi’s is known for its fireworks shows at Disney World, the Boston Pops, the Statue of Liberty and best-known here at home for creating the annual Labor Day Riverfest fireworks on the Ohio River.
 
Adult beverages and Coca-Cola products are available for purchase.  Skyline Chili, Mama Made It kettle corn, popcorn, Sno-Kones, candy bars, and other treats are also available.  Parking is available in the Fountain Square Garage for $4.  For more information visit www.myfountainsquare.com.
