NAACP conducts public hearings on allege police misconduct

NAACP LAUNCHES PROBE

INTO ALLEGED POLICE MISCONDUCT

The Columbus NAACP is holding its initial public hearing on alleged Police misconduct.  The Columbus NAACP is disturbed to learn from recent news stories that there may be unjustified police shootings.  In particular, the most recently related high-profile police shooting cases of Edward Hayes and Regina Jennings, upon receiving additional information; it is possible that those shootings may have been unjustified.  As a result of these complaints and the continued complaints the NAACP receives we are conducting our initial public hearing on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 at the Columbus Urban League, 788 Mt. Vernon Ave., from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  The Columbus NAACP is calling for all alleged victims and families to participate in these public hearings.  This event is open to the public, and a lawyer will be present to take sworn affidavits of alleged incidents of police misconduct. Anyone who has experienced or witnessed such infractions is encouraged to come and speak.
