2nd Annual Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame
 
The Ohio Civil Rights Commission, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Wright State University and Honda of America Mfg., Inc., will sponsor the 2nd Annual Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame event on October 14, 2010 in the Ohio Statehouse.  We are seeking nominations for induction to this year’s Civil Rights Hall of Fame and ask for your participation in this process.

On behalf of the League of United Latin American Citizens of Ohio, I would like to extend a special invitation to attend a private meeting with Assitant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, John Trasviña.  This meeting will allow Latino leaders and those who work with the Latino community a rare opportunity to speak directly with one of the top Latino leaders in our country.  Mr. Trasviña personally requested this meeting with LULAC and other Latino leaders to hear about any issues related to housing in Ohio.

Global solidarity conference

A senior official with Catholic Relief Services will discuss how agriculture and the environment figure in emergency response to natural disasters during a conference Saturday, Feb. 27.

The fourth annual global solidarity conference will feature Dr. Shaun Ferris, the Senior Technical Advisor for Agriculture and the Environment at Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Dr. Ferris is responsible for providing strategic and technical advice to CRS’s field offices in support of a global relief and development project portfolio.
