Chicago 2016 is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the Olympic Movement and hosting the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Chicago.

Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of International Relations is responsible for helping develop and sustain Chicago 2016's international program designed to enhance Chicago's image within the world of sport.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to Director of International and Government Relations
  • Assist with the development and implementation of international programming through an understanding of the assets of the City of Chicago and the world of sport
  • Provide program management with updates on status of projects
  • Develop and implement international relations projects
  • Interact with and coordinate the bid-related activities of local, private and public sector officials
  • Analyze and manage information related to the development of projects
  • Develop briefing materials
  • Manage communication and internal/external relationships as necessary
  • Undertake special projects, as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills Required

  • Undergraduate degree from accredited college or university in a related field; minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Prior experience working in a public outreach environment or project management capacity; international or political campaign experience a plus
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; professional attitude; team player
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills; excellent attention-to-detail and follow up
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bi-lingual skills a plus
